Table of General Use Chinese Characters
通用汉字表・통용한자표
Specification.
- The simplifications in this list are determined based on the greatest common factor between China and Japan, including Japanese substitute characters. It will otherwise opt for the Traditional form or another variant form if sufficiently complex.
- Some characters with multiple Traditional forms have been disunified compared to the PRC General Standard. Thus, there are 3547 and 3006 characters in the corresponding first and second lists, respectively.
- Following the ROC Chart of Standard Forms, characters are collated based on radical-stroke, rather than purely stroke count.
- Unsupported Glyphs are defined as any glyph outside the Basic Multilingual Plane, simplified from a character within, and not identical to an official PRC simplified character.
